Naples #1, Florida 4 out 5 Tops in Fastest Growing Economies
Florida retirement communities now dominate
Four out of five Florida metro areas are have the fastest growing economies:
#1 Naples-Marco Island at 4.9%
#2 Sebring at 4.8%
#3 The Villages at 4.7%
#4 Cape Coral – Fort Myers at 4.5%
#5 Austin, TX at 4.4%
This according to the most recent study by IHS Global Insight, a Colorado-based research firm and reported by Bloomberg, prepared for the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
IHS predicts the Naples area will outpace all other U.S. metro areas in 2016. In January IHS predicted the Naples top results for 2015 as they have played out.
Economic growth is measured by a number of factors: job growth and the growth of all goods and services. The housing market in Naples, with a very strong comeback, contributes to these high rankings. Another major factor in the area is tourism. The past couple of years have shown increased hotel bookings, increased bed tax revenues, and record numbers of passengers through Southwest Florida regional airport.
